The carving depicts Cowichan Lake and the GLW
route around it, our 12 rest stops and all the
communities surrounding the lake. The keys at
the top are red cedar as is the structure and
roof surrounding it
It has been installed at the eastern entrance
to the Town of Lake Cowichan in Greendale Park
by the Cowichan River, and a Sequoia has been
planted behind the structure with local shrubs
at the front.
Our Board wants to thank the Town of Lake Cowichan,
Lake Cowichan Home Centre, BRI Securities, Dwayne
Nikkles and Cowichan Valley Concrete for donations
to help complete this project.
We hope visitors and residents will stop on their walk through the town to admire the carving and learn more about the Great Lake Walk Society and its continuing commitment to the civic and economic welfare of the Cowichan Lake area.
